Project Manager – London

Project Managers are the engines of Velocity. We love ours.

But great ones don’t grow on trees. We’re looking for a passionate, digitally minded PM with that magical knack for finding solutions that work for both client & agency.

It’s definitely a team sport, with lots of plate-spinning, ball-juggling and colleague-wrangling. Fortunately, you’ll be working with the most amazing account management, writing, design, dev, performance and finance teams on Planet B2B. Plus an incredible team of PM peers, of course.

If you can manage people who don’t report to you, motivate and inspire creative colleagues, and bring a flexible, ‘progress not process’ mentality to everything you do…we really should talk. Is today good?

As a Velocity Project Manager, you will:

  • Translate proposals & scopes of work into actionable project plans
  • Proactively monitor the progress of your projects, making sure they’re delivered on time and in budget
  • Communicate key milestones to the accounts and creative teams throughout a project, making sure they’re aware of any threats to delivery
  • Work with our resource manager to allocate people to projects, making sure the right people are assigned to the jobs in terms of bandwidth, skills and client ownership
  • Keep all project plans on our project management software up-to-date
  • Spot potential risks to projects before problems arise, and be able to implement solutions
  • Source and book external suppliers, as and when required
  • Report on and provide informed explanations for the performance of your projects
  • Spot where internal processes can be improved, and come up with viable suggestions for how to improve them

What we’d like you to bring to Velocity:

  • 3+ years experience of managing projects across a number of formats (incl. digital & video) in another agency
  • A calm, measured and methodical approach, and an ability to juggle multiple projects and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for process and driving continuous improvement
  • Good understanding of Google tools, and experience using project management software
  • Experience of resourcing & working with a performance team is a bonus

And in return, Velocity offers:

  • Smart, kind, wonderful people
  • A great company culture well set up for hybrid working
  • A focus on personal development
  • Training time and budget – you get to choose how to spend it
  • 25 holiday days pro rata, extra bank holidays, and additional time off between Christmas & New Year
  • Pension: 5% employer contribution on qualifying earnings
  • Volunteer / community day
  • Life assurance
  • EAP programme
  • Workplace nursery benefit
  • …and more!
