Design Lead – Richmond, London/ Hybrid
We’re now looking for a talented and ambitious Design Lead to join our brilliant, multidisciplinary design team, helping craft everything from beautiful visual identities and new sites to campaigns and general marketing content. You’ll be focussed on inspiring the teams around you through creative excellence and impressively executed work.
As a Velocity Design Lead, you will:
- Work with our Associate Creative Director and the senior design team, as one of the go-to people for all branding projects
- Lead technically and conceptually by example, crafting beautiful visual identities and campaigns for some of the world’s best tech companies
- Collaborate with our account, writing, performance and developer teams to turn briefs into breakthrough work
- Create and deliver world-class design that works across all digital channels
- Have a significant voice in helping shape the process and best practice for all branding and digital outputs
- Attract, motivate, inspire and help develop the design team by having one eye on design trends and innovations
- Do the design work at key moments on key projects, often working with and presenting to our clients
- Work with project management and operations teams to guide resourcing, ensuring we’re working as smartly and efficiency as possible.
- Take part in bi-weekly digital design meetings, aimed at sharing and advancing our design skills, particularly in digital fields
What we’d like you to bring to Velocity:
- 3-5 years minimum as a strong midweight or senior designer within an agency environment (B2C or B2B)
- Plenty of imagination, creativity and craft and adept in design process and methodology
- A folio that boasts beautifully executed work born from inspiring ideas and clever solutions to interesting creative challenges
- A positive, passionate design advocate and evangelist
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to talk through conceptual work passionately and articulately
- Alongside creating identities and building brands, you’ll feel comfortable working on site builds and interactive content
- Strong cultural awareness, ideally having produced content for social media
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD)
- Familiarity with industry standard UX and UI design
- Motion familiarity not essential, but beneficial
